Book cover designs

Dramatic photography paired with the rough, drawn type creates a certain, gritty atmosphere.

In this design there are bright, assorted colours. The vector shapes are simple and create clear but ambiguous imagery. The design overlaps over both the front and back of the book, which I find effective in creating a scene.

Both these designs work with double imagery - the first uses negative space amazingly to create the illusion of a boy. The Lolita design shows a corner of a room - perhaps to signify the household and situation that is prominent in the film. It also is a visual metaphor for a female's legs, creating clever and simplistic imagery.

This cover is hand drawn and this creates a child-like style and innocence to it, which suits the story. It is very minimal but makes a big impact.

These designs are very sophisticated and beautifully drawn, although the concepts behind them don't seem very prominent or existing.
